Seestar S50 Pro Makes Its Japanese Event Debut at Tainai Star Party 2026

The Seestar S50 Pro made its Japanese event debut at Tainai Star Party 2026, giving astronomy enthusiasts in Japan their first opportunity to experience Seestar’s newest smart telescope in person.
Held in Tainai, Niigata, the three-day event brought together astronomy enthusiasts, astrophotographers, industry partners, and visitors from across Japan. Together with our Japanese distributors Vixen and KYOEI, the ZWO and Seestar teams welcomed visitors to explore the latest developments in smart astrophotography and astronomical imaging.
A First Look at the Seestar S50 Pro
As the newest addition to the Seestar family, the S50 Pro attracted considerable interest throughout the event.
Visitors had the opportunity to see the S50 Pro up close and learn more about its upgraded imaging capabilities, including its 50mm aperture and 4K dual-lens system. Designed to combine advanced imaging performance with a streamlined all-in-one experience, the S50 Pro brings together optics, imaging, tracking, storage, and intelligent processing in a compact system.
For many visitors, Tainai Star Party was their first chance to see the S50 Pro outside of product announcements and online coverage—and to experience the new telescope firsthand.
Capturing M57 Under Challenging Skies
The weather at Tainai was far from ideal for astronomical imaging. Heavy clouds and intermittent rain made observing conditions challenging throughout the event.
Even so, the S50 Pro was put to the test during an on-site imaging session and successfully captured the Ring Nebula (M57).
The result offered a memorable demonstration of the S50 Pro’s deep-sky imaging capabilities and gave visitors a chance to see what the new smart telescope could achieve in real-world conditions.
Rather than simply viewing the product on display, visitors could discuss the imaging process, explore the resulting image, and see the S50 Pro in action.
Connecting with the Japanese Astronomy Community
One of the highlights of Tainai Star Party was the opportunity to meet astronomy enthusiasts in person.
Throughout the event, visitors stopped by to talk about astrophotography, share their experiences, and learn more about Seestar and ZWO’s latest imaging solutions. The event also provided an opportunity for the ZWO team to connect more closely with the Japanese astronomy community and better understand the interests and needs of local users.
We were pleased to participate alongside our Japanese distribution partners Vixen and KYOEI, whose support helped bring the latest Seestar and ZWO products to the event.
