Seestar Remote Device Sharing Guide
The Remote Device Sharing feature allows a device owner to grant access to their Seestar smart telescope to other accounts. Shared users do not need to be physically near the telescope. As long as they log in to the Seestar App, they can connect to the device remotely via the internet to observe and capture astrophotography images.
How It Works
Share your Seestar with friends and explore the night sky together.
1. Enable Sharing
Device Owner
- Initiate device sharing
- Manage the shared users list (add/remove friends)
- Revoke sharing permissions at any time
Instructions:
- Open the Seestar App → Me → Telescope Network, then locate the device you want to share in the Remote Device List and tap it.
- Tap "Share with Friends", enter your friend's account (a registered phone number or email), and set the start time for sharing. Then tap "Share" to confirm.
- If Permanent Access is selected, you only need to set the start time.

Notes:
- If "Valid indefinitely" is enabled, only the start time needs to be set and the sharing will remain active indefinitely; if "Valid indefinitely" is not selected, both start time and end time must be set.
- If the start time is set in the future, the device will only appear in your friend's remote device list when that time arrives.
- The device owner can view which shared user is currently using the device in real time, making it easier to manage access.

Shared User
- After receiving a sharing notification, you can view the remote device in the app.
- You have permission to view and take photos remotely.
- You can not forward or share this device again.
Instructions:
- When a friend shares a device with you, you will receive a system notification in the Seestar App including: Friend's name, Device name, Sharing start time, Sharing end time.
- On the app homepage, tap Connect Device. The shared remote device will appear in the device list. Tap Connect to start using it.

2. Remove Sharing
Device Owner
Instructions:
- Open Seestar App → Me → Telescope Network, then select the device you want to manage from the Remote Device List.
- Tap "Edit" in the upper-right corner, select the friend you want to remove, then tap "Remove" to revoke their access.

Shared User
If the device owner removes your sharing access, you will receive a system notification in the Seestar App indicating the friend's name and the device name that was removed. The device will no longer appear in your remote device list.

FAQ

If Permanent Access is enabled: only a start time is required and the sharing remains active indefinitely.
If Permanent Access is not enabled: both start and end times must be set. The default maximum duration for a single sharing session is 7 days.
What happens if the owner removes sharing permissions while someone is using the device?
If the owner revokes access while a shared user is currently connected, the system will immediately terminate the remote connection and reclaim device control.
Are there any account requirements for shared users?
