How to Use Manual Focus on Seestar for Sharp Images
When Auto Focus isn’t delivering sharp results, Seestar’s manual focus mode gives you full control to capture crisp, clear shots. This guide walks you through when to use it and how to adjust focus step-by-step.
When to Use Manual Focus
Start with Auto Focus (AF) by tapping the "AF" button first. If the image stays out of focus, or if you need precise control over your focus point, switch to manual focus mode.
Manual focus is available in three modes:
- Stargazing mode
- Solar System mode
- Scenery mode
How to Use Manual Focus (Scenery Mode Example)
- Open the Seestar App and enter Scenery mode to launch the imaging screen.
- Tap your desired subject to place a focus box around it.
- Tap the "F" (Focus) button on the right to open the focus control panel.
- Use the Up and Down buttons to adjust focus manually until the subject appears sharp.

Pro Tips for Perfect Focus
- Test one direction first: The manual focus control has two buttons: Up and Down. If you’re unsure which button to press, pick one. If the image gets blurrier, use the opposite button. Keep adjusting until the subject is sharp.
- Always tap the target first: In both Scenery and Solar System modes, tap your subject to place a focus box before using AF or MF. This ensures focus is applied to the right spot.
