Recommended setups for EQ Mode:

  • For S30 Pro: We recommend the TH10 Fluid Tripod Head + TC20 Carbon Fiber Tripod combo for the best EQ Mode experience.
  • For S50 Pro: A tripod is already included, so we recommend purchasing the TH10 Fluid Tripod Head separately for EQ Mode.

For existing TH10 owners: When pairing the TH10 with Seestar S50 Pro in EQ mode, we recommend purchasing the new Seestar TH10 3/8" Screw Quick-Release Plate for improved imaging stability.

Connection Method

When using Seestar S50’s TC20 tripod with the TH10 tripod head, be noted that the tripod head might hit the tripod leg at some certain angles. Thus, this combo is not compatible with regions located below 15° latitude.
Note: TC20 is the tripod that comes with the Seestar S50.

1. After unfolding the tripod, adjust each leg to the desired length and securely lock them in place. Then, place the tripod body on a flat, stable surface. Align one leg roughly towards the north (in the Northern Hemisphere). Carefully observe the spirit level and adjust the leg height to ensure the bubble is centered within the marked circular indicator. At this point, the tripod is properly set up.

2. First, install TH10 by screwing the 1/4″ to 3/8″ threaded screw adapter into the Seestar, subsequently, use a coin wrench to tighten the screws of the adapter.

3. Attach the quick release plate, making sure it fits securely with the Seestar. (See attached pictures for reference). Then, tighten the screws on the quick release plate to ensure proper polar alignment during the setup process.

4. Tighten the horizontal adjustment knob at the bottom of the TH10 and attach the TH10 to the tripod. Then, loosen the knob and keep the dovetail groove pointing North, which should align with the north-facing support leg. Finally, tighten the knob.

5. Install the Seestar device onto the TH10, aligning it with the dovetail groove. Tighten the knob firmly to ensure the equipment is secure. Once confirmed, the installation is complete.

Seestar TH10 hydraulic tripod head enables the Seestar S50 and S30 to operate in equatorial (EQ) mode. Note: When using the Seestar S50 in equatorial (EQ) mode with the TH10 tripod head and the TC20 tripod (included with the Seestar S50), please note that the equipment may collide with the tripod legs at certain angles. Therefore, this setup is not recommended for use in regions below 15° latitude.

I like it

The Tripod Head works great with my S30 in EQ mode. Easy to adjust, smooth and stable. The only issue is that the pan adjustment lock knob interferes with the tripod mount so one must take care in affixing the head to the tripod.

Smooth and strong

I like the head a lot. I also have an equatorial wedge from Sky Watcher. The Seestar head works smoother.

Loving it!

This little box is amazing! I got this for my daughter who was getting into star gazing but also wanted to be able to take photos of the stuff we looked at. She is absolutely loving it. We both get bummed now when the clouds roll in a night because we both look forward to exploring the sky. the presets as well as just pointing it at a random direction and doing long exposures just to see what’s there.

I’ve already recommended this to my dad and the folks whom I’ve shared pictures with have been amazed. There is a lot of power in this little box for the price. It’s really an impressive piece of technology speaking as a software developer myself.

Highly recommend if you are wanting to take your first step into this universe. It really helps make it super easy to enjoy the sky!

Solid must have addition

A solid piece of engineering. This is a well thought out piece of engineering from ZWO (Seestar). I would say that if you plan to use your Seestar telescope in EQ mode (also highly recommended to get the most out of it), then this little device should definitely be on your shopping list. Fluid rotation on both altitude and azimuth allow for sufficiently accurate polar alignment. Both axis can be firmly tightened (azimuth axis has a lever pull out and rotate knob to allow for full rotation). Built in bubble level and handle allow for quicker levelling and alignment.
An all round well matched design light enough to travel or to use from home!

J'ai bien réceptionné l'article, cependant, un paiement de 36€ a été nécessaire pour les frais de douane. Pour le reste, la qualité du produit est excellente.

It is still in the testing period.

I have used it very little and I still cannot give a definitive opinion. I have seen that 60-second exposures seem too optimistic, but less time might yield good results. I can't blame the equipment until I do more testing. The product quality is very good. Ultimately, I think it will bring me a lot of satisfaction.

Seestar Tripod Head

I have really enjoyed using my Seestar S50 and was excited about this tripod head. Unfortunately, the directions are not clear, particularly regarding the correct use of the knobs. I'm having difficulty setting the vertical axis (azimuth) when trying to get polar deviation. It would be helping to provide a troubleshooting page on your website/blog. When looking online, most of the videos I see online are for another brand and not the TH10.

Dear customer,
Thanks a lot for your support on our Seestar S50.
Could you please tell us which specific step you encountered the problem with TH10? Could you provide a screenshot? We will arrange for our professional technical support team to assist you. We would also like to remind you that there is a tutorial video in the Seestar App's equatorial mount mode settings; you can review it before proceeding. If you encounter any problems during operation, please feel free to contact our technical support team.We are happy to assist you.

Works fine

Works fine, quality seems good. Bit expensive given that you may make it without.. consider if you can not use something you allready got to tilt the seestar: What impressed me was how good the seestar polar alignment callibration worked: I probably could used some of my photo mounts. But nice to have a dedicated mount :)

My new Seestar TH10 Fluid Tripod Head

Even though i already had an adapted tripod head for my Seestar I really wanted to have the real Seestar model. I love how small it is and that it came with adapter screw inserts. It is proving to be very good.

Almost perfect

To overall object's quality is good, the rotation's precision is really great, but the precision on the vertical axis is difficult to achieve.
Maybe I just don't understand how to use it, but I didn't see any video on how to setup it correctly, it would be better to have screws to rotate the vertical axis.
In the meantime, achieving the setup is quite difficult on the vertical axis.
Otherwise, good experience :)

TH10 Fluid Tripod Head

I was aware that ZWO were about to release this fluid head to enable EQ mode on the Seestar S50, so waited for it rather than buy another brand & have to adapt it. It makes the whole process very easy & I would highly recommend the TH10.
